Lauriina Pitkänen, originally from Oulu, studies piano in the Music Pedagogy programme at the Arts Academy of Turku University of Applied Sciences under Jukka Juvonen. She began her piano studies at the Oulu Conservatory in 2016 and graduated as a professional musician in spring 2025. At the conservatory, she studied with Laura Röntynen.

Lauriina has actively participated in masterclasses. She also enjoys chamber music with other musicians, especially lied repertoire. In recent years, she has also become increasingly interested in teaching.

In her “Sommar Sibelius” concerts, Lauriina interprets the atmospheric and summery piano works of Jean Sibelius. The programme includes, among others, When the Rowan Blossoms, Nocturne, and Forest Lake, which lead the listener into the northern landscape of nature, light, and quiet summer evenings.

During the 2026 summer our museum comes to life on weekends with live music in the Sibelius Hall. With this, we wish to provide a possibility to experience our exhibitions a bit differently. Naturally, you may also have a seat in the concert hall and just enjoy the music.

Sommar Sibelius is a collaborative project between the Sibelius Museum and the Turku Arts Academy where music students perform music by Jean Sibelius during short pop-up concerts.

The Sommar Sibelius concerts are included in the admission price. You can also pay with the Museum Card! Find the whole series here!
