Pianist Kaisu Korhonen is studying to become a music pedagogue (B.A.) at the Arts Academy of Turku University of Applied Sciences. At the Arts Academy in Turku, her teachers have included Jukka Juvonen and Eveliina Kytömäki. Korhonen is also a trained musician, having graduated from the Helsinki Conservatory in 2021, where she studied with Naoko Shibayama-Aarnio. Before her professional studies, she attended the Pielinen Karelia Music Institute, studying under Marja Peura. Korhonen has also taken part in numerous masterclasses, receiving instruction from, among others, Janne Mertanen, Niklas Pokki, Antti Hotti, Anna Laakso, and Eero Heinonen.

As a musician, Korhonen is especially inspired by the interpretative possibilities of musical works. She particularly enjoys moments when she can move audiences through her interpretations. In Sommar Sibelius, Korhonen performs Jean Sibelius’s Six Impromptus, Op. 5.

During the 2026 summer our museum comes to life on weekends with live music in the Sibelius Hall. With this, we wish to provide a possibility to experience our exhibitions a bit differently. Naturally, you may also have a seat in the concert hall and just enjoy the music.

Sommar Sibelius is a collaborative project between the Sibelius Museum and the Turku Arts Academy where music students perform music by Jean Sibelius during short pop-up concerts.

The Sommar Sibelius concerts are included in the admission price. You can also pay with the Museum Card. Find the whole series here!
